From plant floors and product pipelines to software methods research.

I hold MS and BS degrees in Computer Science from Iqra University and have spent more than eight years delivering architecture, continuous delivery, and security-aware release practices across mobile and backend products.

Through Smart Melt, a steel-plant automation product connected to Siemens SIMATIC S7 PLCs, I worked with multi-year operational data and saw how requirements, deployed software, and live process behaviour drift apart without continuous evidence. That practitioner problem drives my doctoral research agenda.

Research

Questions at the boundary of engineering work and assurance.

I study how organisations continuously produce, structure, and reason about compliance evidence as systems evolve from development into long-lived operation.

  1. Runtime traceability

    Linking requirements, design decisions, and obligations to observed behaviour of software-intensive systems—including OT–IT and PLC-connected environments.

  2. Evidence as a by-product

    Treating CI/CD, tests, reviews, configuration, documentation, and releases as living sources of compliance evidence—not artefacts assembled only at audit time.

  3. Automated collection & retrieval

    Structuring and retrieving evidence across heterogeneous engineering artefacts with models, graphs, semantic retrieval, and AI-assisted analysis where appropriate.

  4. Explainable AI components

    Making analytics and ML outputs in product or plant systems usable inside assurance arguments.

Detecting Shadows in Computer Vision: A MATLAB-Based Approach

Lab colour-space method for shadow detection using luminance thresholding and chromaticity distance, producing a binary shadow mask. Follow-on Python reimplementation for reproducibility beyond the original MATLAB prototype.
